Union of Informed Citizens NGO launches the watchdog journalism online course

On December 28, 2018, the first stage of the Enabling Watchdog Journalism in Armenia Project was launched, namely, the website with online video lessons.

As informed earlier, the Union of Informed Citizens NGO initiated online courses of investigative and fact-checking journalism with funding from the UN Democracy Fund in order to promote public supervision in Armenia.

Video lessons are free and accessible to everyone. Nevertheless, the main target group of the project is the journalists and students.

A total of 12 video lessons have been designed within the framework of the project, which were prepared by Armenian and international experts with relevant experience in the field.

In order to participate in all the stages of the project, it is necessary to register in the website and answer the subsequent questions. Participants who successfully pass the test will be given the opportunity to participate in the face-to-face training, which will enable participants to use the gained knowledge in practice.

After the end of this stage, a competition will be announced for the participants, and the 8 best watchdog journalism projects will be awarded sub-grants.
